Yeah, I've still got relatives and friends down there, and so far no one I know has lost anything, yet.. And from what I've heard it is indeed worse than '03. We were still there and I knew a few folks that lost everything, and some that came damn close.. Still remember the ashes all over the place.. Very surreal.. Don't miss that at all..

Wasn't too bad here today, some rain, drizzle.. Not bad at all.. Looks like no rain to speak of at least through Halloween.. Might even drop into the 40's for the highs.. Freakin' beautiful..

If you've been living here any number of years you wouldn't trust that forecast at all. You must know it WILL rain in that stretch of days at least once, it always changes.

Maybe not, but I'm sure it will rain more than once in that stretch. It is later Oct. afterall...

All I'm saying is; don't trust a 10-day forecast in fall/winter/spring in Seattle that says it'll be dry the whole time.

If you remember last January (2007) it didn't rain 14 consecutive days. 3 cloudy and 11 sunny days. So everything is possible

Just to play devil's advocate on this one, we hit the other extreme almost exactly a year earlier as well.

The Seattle Times: Local News: Seattle did break a rain record

27 straight days of rain! I recall not even noticing it until the news started covering the streak. You know you're from Seattle when...

I was going to say the same thing. My daughter was out there visiting at the time. And of course, such weather is always dismissed as "unusual". I would say it's the usual/unusual, like a 100 degree day in Denver in July.
