Question Affordable Areas near Seattle

What are the most affordable & safe suburbs nears Seattle (within 30 minutes)? I know Tacoma is considered a bad area. But, are there areas that are both affordable and have low crime? I would like to avoid the high cost of living in areas like Bellevue, but still be close to Seattle.

Thanks

I think you realize that there's usually a sliding scale between affordability and a location's crime rate no matter what part of the country you're in.

The more affordable areas "tend" to have higher crime and conversely, the more affluent areas will tend to have slightly lower crime statistics.

I'd look at the suburbs either immediately north of Seattle. The southern suburbs have a bad reputation but you can find nice pockets within those burbs too.
