Default Seattle Apartments

I'm relocating to Seattle from San Antonio, TX in December. I'll be working downtown, at 3rd Ave & Seneca. I'd like to live near-ish to where I'll be working, but I know this can be a challenge. People I know in Seattle have given me some neighborhoods to consider, but they all own/rent houses, so they don't have much to offer as far as apartment info. The areas I've been given to look are Ballard, Fremont, Wallingford, Queen Anne, and Capital Hill. I'm looking for a 1 bedroom apartment that will let me have a very small (10 pounds) dog, is of reasonable square footage (650-700+), and either includes a W/D or has full-size hook-ups. Does anyone have any specific suggestions of apartment complexes to consider? I'm looking to stay at or under $1250/month.

Right off hand there is one I suggest. Welch Plaza which is at the intersection of 23rd and Jackson in the heart of an area called the Central District. Welch Plaza is about 4 years old and they have w/d inside and underground parking. You are about 1 mile from dt Seattle and the #14 bus stop is directly across the street to take you to work. Also there's a shopping area on the same block with Starbucks, Walgreens, a video store and other stores.

ew, not the central district. You wouldn't want to walk your dog around there, that's for sure. For a single female, not really recommended.

Queen Anne, for $1250 you can pick and choose, probably even get a 2br (too many to choose from). It's a way more friendly dog area too - other areas you'll have a harder time finding a place that allows dogs. Most will already have w/d.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've done more research, and now I'm actually looking further north--towards Edmonds/Mill Creek/Mukilteo. I seem to be able to get more space for the money up there.

Why not avoid a commute and live in Belltown? You could walk to work and to Pike Place Market.

Oh, here's one on craigslist, but of course I don't know anything about it: Belltown Apartments - One Bedroom One Bath CE (broken link)
