They keep their trucks running all night since they're diesel, so they just have the usual kind of heater like a car's. When I travelled west recently and slept in rest areas, the noise from the trucks was quite annoying.

A good sleeping bag rated to below zero is a very wise investment, it can last for many years and can be used if your home or apartment loses heat, in addition to camping and sleeping in vehicles. Lots of people went without heat in Seattle when the electricity went out after those windstorms.

Hahha I found this to be very amusing - I will be making my cross country journey from Florida to Seattle early next month. I have an American bulldog and a pit bull who will accompany me. We will be staying at Holiday Inn's and LaQuintas because they didn't have breed restrictions.
