Man, I really hope they don't move. I hate this Clay Bennett guy, he just wants the NBA in Oklahoma City. He practically tried to keep the New Orleans Hornets there after Katrina, but the Sonics must be his "long term" plan to do it. C'mon Seattle, we can't let this happen! What can we do?

This pops up every now and again. Haven't they said they may move several times?

Give Clay hell Seattle!!
We will not lose the sonics. the sonics are seattle. Do whatever we can do to keep them. Even if your not a fan you dont wanna lose a organization that has been in our community for 41 years! A solution must happen, and it shouldnt break the taxpayers wallet. we all need to see what we can do. Just think about your friends and kids. Some of them will or can be sonics fans. kevin durrant is gonna be one of the best players of all time. he will bring more money to seattle just playing here. Its a win win situation. Lets do what we can do guys and give the Okies hell guys!!

Of course! But I can't decide whether to go to the games or not. If I go, it could help the team stay by showing that Seattle can support them, but then I'm putting money in Clay Bennett's wallet, and all he wants to do is move the team to his hometown and be a "hometown hero." Forget you guys in Oklahoma, save our sonics!

I think there's a good chance the team will be gone. Let's face it, after the last few months of trying to get a new arena I've really come to realize Seattle just isn't a "sports town."

I may not live or be from Seattle, but I would hate to see the Sonics leave. In the few times I have visited Seattle, I have grown to love the city and would want Seattle to have an NBA team. I disagree that Seattle isn't a Sports City. The Mariners drew real well for a while and the Seahawks have the loudest fan base in the NFL. I really would love to see Seattle get a NHL team as well. I think the NHL would do real well in Seattle.

are you kidding me? That's about as rediculous as saying New York doesn't have skyscrapers........
band wagon maybe, I'll give you that. Most cities are.
We have two brand new Stadiums for NFL, and MLB with the Seahawks having the loudest crowd in the leauge. Both teams draw very well....we are the only pro teams in the entire northwest region of the US in their sports. Thus the expanded market reaching even Canada.
Countless stars have and do play for our teams
Our history is very storied
Even our WNBA Team has just recently won a Championship
In my lifetime, I have to tell you......One of the greatest peroids of me watching basketball ever was in the 90's when the Super Sonics, had Kemp and Payton. The city was about to explode, it was crazy. They had to be one of the most exciting duos ever period!
In that period of time, pretty much every college player was wearing Shawn Kemps shoes (and this is when Jordan was playing), I knew people around the US who never even been to Seattle, and was Sonic fans because of Kemp and Payton. It was electric then.
We have these people not from Seattle, or to young to remember. But in the 90's the Sonics was the best show in the NBA, only upstage by Mr. Jordan himself.
(go to YouTube and type in Shawn Kemp and see for yourself)
Then it all fell apart of course, we all know how the story goes.
But the Sonics have played in Three NBA championships and won one of them.
It would make me sick to my stomach to see the Super Sonics leave, to what?..........Oklahoma.........are you kidding me. What could be worst? better yet what's next...............The Lakers going to Wichita........unbelievable!
I know breath easy.......Trust me I'm trying too, but I've been a Sonic fan for years, so has my mother, and the rest of my entire family, so with that being said, this Clay guy needs to take a hike, and go back where he came from, and leave the Super Sonics where they belong and thats in Seattle.

Seattle is a total bandwagon town, very fickle fans whatever team is doing well that year they will root for. But when things aren't going so well, see ya later Seattle fans. I remember blackouts for Seahawk games when they weren't playing so well, the fans not wanting those fancy new stadiums (even now with the Sonics, the fans don't want to pay for it), and thousands and thousands of empty seats at Mariner games when they were bad. Sure, Seattle teams have a "losing culture," but saying the teams have good, LOYAL fans is the ridiculous statement. Look at cities like Green Bay or Boston, even with poor performances out of the Packers or Red Sox, the fans are still there and there's no threat of a blackout like there is here.
