I am from California and trying to find a small studio or 1 bedroom for myself and my fiance'.
In California I know that medical bills cannot be held against you while considering your credit history. I am not sure if this is a state law or a federal law. I tried looking it up online, but unfortunately I was'nt able to find the information.
If anyone can help me, I would seriously appreciate it!
Thanks!

No I rented for Years in California and heard that many times. My landlords couldn't count medical debt against me while checking credit.

It might just depend on the apartment - we looked at one where the fine print spells out that the only exceptions to denials based on credit/debt/bankruptcies were for medical bills.
