Taxes
I know there is no state tax, but when comparing my tax deductions from the state we are in to Washington, it says we have to pay an industrial tax, because my husband works construction. Is this true, if so it is 500 a month!!! And he is an employee. Any ideas?

isn't that only if *he* has employees? I've heard the fees/taxes for L&I can be brutal.

I think for most *professional* services in Washington (independent contractor, etc), you need your master business license, which requires yearly fees (not including bonding, etc). Those fees might be close to $500 a *year*, but not monthly.

I would be really surprised if there was, if he was employed by a company and not an independent contractor.
