Hello all,

My wife, kids (aged 7 & 4) and myself will be in your beautiful city this upcoming fri and sat and were hoping to get some advice from locals as to itinerary. We will be staying at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue and are mainly coming down to shop and eat.

Can you please recommend some decent malls/outlets that carry brand names?

Decent seafood restaurant or other local favourite ? One of the night we will be checking out Maggianos as its a favorite of the wife and we do not have them in Canada

We'd like to get in some sightseeing in as well that is easy to do with the kids.. could you please recommend some must sees sites or a favorite thing to do that only locals would know about.

We will be there on Jul 12 & 13.. anything going on those days in particular?

Thanks in advance.

Bellevue has a mall you might enjoy. The only outlets I know of are Seattle Premium Outlets, which are a drive north, in Tulalip. If you're into megamalls, there's SouthCenter, which is not too far.

Here for two days during our most beautiful weather and you want to be inside a mall? No! Go to Pike Place Market, go downtown, take a ferry ride, eat on the waterfront, hike the mountains, ... be outside!

If you're just coming to shop and eat there's no reason to leave Bellevue. Bellevue is French for "Shop and eat."

Drive up 20+ minutes to North Bend, they have an outlet mall but more importantly Snoqualmie Falls which you and the kids would enjoy seeing. Then drive down highway 203 into Fall City where the Raging River and Snoqualmie River meet, and see the farmlands in the area. The best seafood restaurants are in Seattle, but Anthony's Homeport in Kirkland is not far from Bellevue and is great.

Your kids might like the rides at Remlinger Farms, too.

Not really. We go every Saturday to the farmer's Market in Issaquah but it's mostly produce. Same with the one in Kirkland near the beach in Juanita.

The Pike Place Market (the heart and soul of Seattle IMO) is where you should take her. PLENTY of retail therapy there. (Buy her some flowers there. They are unreal and they are cheap!) And the food is other worldly. Mind you, it's a short 4 block walk to Macy's and Nordstrom, as well as tons of stores downtown. From there you can take the Monorail a few minute ride to the base of the Space Needle. This time of year, an Olympic Mountain sunset there will bring tears to your eyes. Or from the market, walk to the Ferry. Take a ferry ride and catch a sunset. It's a spectacular show.
