Dear Seattlies, anyone commuting from either Fall City or Snoqualmie to Redmond (Microsoft)? How bad is the commute, particularly if one needs to choose the route south of Lake Sammamish? Thank you!

Hi, my sister has a fried that has been making that commute for several years now. My sisters husband makes the commute from Sammamish. I'll ask and get back to ya!

My commute is close but not exactly that, it goes from North Bend to The NE part of Bellevue, very close to Redmond. I think it is a great commute taking me about 40 minutes, but there is very rarely any traffic so you are always moving. The scenery is beautiful and the 4 lane interstate is a pleasure to cruise on. Ive had 40 minute commutes that go a quarter of the distance and have nothing to look at. I'd take mine over even a 20-30 minute commute through the 405.

I have a friend who commutes to Microsoft from Fall City. Takes him 30-35 minutes, and he's much happier not living in Redmond.

We were just in Snoqualmie for my son's Lacrosse tournament. I had never been there before and was really impressed. We know we need to move much closer to Seattle in the coming 2 years but I am not certain that I could deal with city living. I like being there but I am an outdoor girl so when I saw this place and how quickly we got into downtown for the ferry they wheels started turning lol.

Most people from that area are taking I90 into Bellevue or Seattle.
If you take 203/202 it can be heavy at evening commute time but rarely backed up.

On those few days with flooding, snow, freezing fog, or black ice it can be nasty or impossible to get through. You can still go I90 to 156th in Bellevue to MS in that case. Some years (like last) there's never a problem.

Thank you all very much for feedback!

To follow up... if, let's say, we move to Snoqualmie, how long would a drive to Downtown Seattle or Kent would be during rush hours? Do HWY's 405 and 18 get busy going south in the morning and north in the afternoon?

What about driving from Snoqualmie further north, let's say, to Woodinville or Lynnwood?
