I loved the High Fivin White Guys on Almost Live! Thanks for the memory!

John Hinterburger on the radio every day. Real local talk radio that wasn't pasturized and homogenized.

Knowing someone who actually knew where the Bubblator currently resided.

Locals who said "Boeings" for Boeing

Being able to hop on the ferry on any nice summer weekend without much of a wait

When there was NO traffic through I-5 Everett going north

Housing prices that were near what it cost a month to rent

The day they striped car pool lanes on I-5 after the powers that be said it was impossible. (A grassroots movement of downtown workers with petitions kept after them. It made me believe that people could make a difference in Seattle).

Ah, the old Food Circus. Interesting shops, the bubbleator, and the museum of the weird. It was a heck of a lot more interesting in 1975 than it is today.

As a kid, I was fascinated with that thing at the World's Fair. Now that I think about it, there were a lot of things at that World's Fair that fascinated me.

Oh, I suppose Dick's Drive In hamburger joint. Like Ivar's though, it never really lived up to its reputation for food ..... sheesh, the nerve of them charging extra for ketchup .... just a fun place to hang out, to see and be seen.

There's still something special about a Dick's hamburger, though. They take me back to my high school days.

And I believe that Dick's still have their order takers calculate the order and tax in their heads instead of using any type of machine to add up an order. That was a unique tradition that I heard that Spady insisted he wanted carried on.
