Have you guys ever noticed that SR 18, SR 16 and SR 3 form half of a oval around greater Seattle? There have been discussions to create a freeway from snoqualmie to everett via SR 203 in the past. So say they do that in the near future, forming a complete bypass around greater Seattle. But then i was thinking, why not make a full oval around the greater seattle area? That would mean a bridge or a tunnel across the puget sound from roughly everett to the north tip of kitsap county. But imagine, a full beltway around the seattle area. Downtown seattle would be right in the center of it, making me think this is destined to happen. Why dont you look at these maps and tell me what you think about a beltway around greater seattle.

It's been talked about for decades and there is a good chance that it would happen some day. I think it's more likely that the existing roadways would be widened, though.

Really? I didn't know. Are you sure? Are there any documents about that plan? I am talking about the full beltway of course.

I don't know. For me the terms " highway" and "enthusiast" are mutually exclusive.

You should get together with Kemper Freeman Jr. ...lol

He is a "highway enthusiast" and light rail "opponent" and has met great opposition to several of his I-605 proposals over the years.

Seattle region has had a history of opposition to building roadways. I remember as a teen-ager all the controversy over the R.H. Thomson Expressway. Embarrassingly, I remember being disappointed by that freeway not being built.

This Seattle Times article from a decade ago will give you a brief history of the past proposals as you move forward in collaborating with Mr. Freeman in forging ahead to build more highways ...be sure to note my

Some freeway plans never went anywhere

Good luck! Although my sarcasm might seem that I'm against more roads, I really am not but I think you'll still be facing an uphill battle.

What for? It's not like there's all this traffic from Vancouver dying to get to Portland.
