Default The MLS comes to Seattle in '09!

Soccer | Seattle gets Major League Soccer franchise | Seattle Times Newspaper

This is awesome, I've always wanted an MLS team. This still won't make up for the sonics moving if that happens, tho

MLS In Seattle!

I'm a Columbus Crew season ticket holder, and will be a Seattle season ticket holder when I move out west in a couple of years.

I here the new team could be called the Sounders. I would like to see them called FC Seattle Fog, but that's not up to me. After a bad 2008, this could be a morale boost for Seattle.

I hope so too. As a once and hopefully future Seattle area native, I wish Seattle well. My fabled team, the Seattle Mariners had the second worst record in Major League Baseball of 2008, worst in the AL. This upsets me because I have been a Mariners fan since I was a child. I have seen better, mainly 1997, 2000, and 2001. Even 2001-2002,2007 they weren't bad. Seeing the SuperSonics leave Seattle was kind of disheartening for me, even if I don't normally watch NBA. I didn't like that. That wasn't the only morale drop for 2008 in Seattle. Watching WaMu's demise scared me a bit.
Hopefulluy, this new team will be a morale boost for Seattle in general.
