It depends on what you look for in nightlife. There are plenty of regular bars, pubs, specialty cocktail bars, and gastropubs throughout the City. Seattle has a great neighborhood bar scene, and there are also several neighborhoods with large clusters of bars and restaurants (Capitol Hill, Belltown, Ballard, Fremont, Pioneer Square, Queen Anne) and a lot of smaller clusters as well.

So, if you're looking for places to sit on a bar stool and drink until 2 am, Seattle has plenty of options. In terms of bars per capita, Seattle ranks higher than average.

Now, if you want a high energy nightlife with lots of clubs and sleek lounges, Seattle's nightlife is lacking. Capitol Hill and Ballard have good energy and bustle on weekends, but for the most part Seattle's nightlife feels more low-key. People generally don't get that crazy. There are clubs and lounges, but not as many as other cities and frankly they are not very good.

So, in summary, it's a very good low-key bar City, not a good get-crazy nightclub City.

People there.... pretty awful.

Not really. I feel like many people move to Seattle for a very specific type of culture; eco-friendly, reserved, educated, liberal, techy, nerdy, etc. This type of crowd appeals to a lot of people.

If you're talking about ethnic diversity, it's mostly White and Asian. Again, that appeals to a lot of people.

There are already plenty of places where you can find diversity. Strangely enough, many transplants that are moving to Seattle are moving away from those diverse cities.

There are absolutely no black or Hispanic people, if that's what you're asking. It's kinda like living in a JCPenney commercial where someone throws in the occasional Asian to keep it "multicultural".

interesting so seattle is so progressive, yet seattle residents are not too excited bout diversity, somewhat contradictive

I don't know how you came up with that. Seattle is very diverse, and the definition of that by the way has nothing to do with skin color. There are many cultures represented and just because many of them have white skin does NOT mean they are at all the same. Irish, Swedish, English, South Aftican, they are all very different even though they might be pale--that has always irritated me. Since when are you only cultured or have it if your skin is dark?

It is like saying Detroit is not diverse because there are not many Asians.
