Roseville, CA to Seattle...
Hi, I am trying to find out if anyone can reply with some areas in Seattle that are comparable to Roseville, Ca. Roseville has a lot of new communities, a bunch of parks, great schools, good restaurants, a nice mall and a lot of young families with kids similar age to mine (5, 2, 1 month). Can anyone reply with areas near Seattle that compare?
Thanks!

You came to the right place - I moved up here from Sacramento 3 years ago - and I'll give you my definate honest Calif opinion on it here - period.
The Roseville area over here is called "Bellevue", I would also suggest Issaquah or Redmond (actually anything on the eastside) if you are still looking for the Roseville feel.
I've been watching the Sacramento housing market - because we want to move BACK! - so what is your price range?? You know how Roseville and Granite Bay are the fancy areas (as compared to Sac) so the houses are more expensive? Okay - same here
There are communities in the South of Seattle - stay away from...it's like a Stockton feel
Therre is a LynnWood mall here - which is more Elk Grove-ish. In case you need somewhere more affordable.
I'm also a mom, my kids are one newborn(due next week) and a 6 year old. SO I've looked at all kinds of Daycares and elementary schools if you need my opinions on those too

Hi Jill,
I just came from NorCal too. I would definitely check out the Issaquah Highlands. There are great schools, lots of shops and the scenery is unbelievable. Here's some pictures.

I visited a friend for a week in Roseville when he was stationed at Beale AFB. The city did not seem remarkable to me at all, it was essentially a clone of any other spread out suburban city up here (Renton, Auburn, Lynnwood, etc....), but possibly with more masterplanned/newer "communities". I definitely did not get the Bellevue vibe from Roseville. Bellevue looks like Sacramento from the freeway, at least in terms of skyline. Granted, he lived on the edge of town, and we only went to the mall once, so I probably didn't get a fair assessment of the area.

I must agree with CityGirl72 those places sound like what you are looking for, there are also some areas in south king county that are newly developed that may interest you, It would depend upon where you may be commuting to and what your price range is.
