According to today's News Tribune (Tacoma), the Sounders lead all MLS teams in scoring with an average of .... wait for it... 1.94 goals per game.

They lead the league with that minuscule average?

Yawn...

Harrier will remain a Hawks fan.

12 points, and to get 14 points, a football team usually has to score twice or more.

There are no scoreless ties in football, and ties are not broken in the playoffs by field goals from the 20 yard line.

Football players don't pretend to be actors in order to draw fouls and they generally don't bite opposing players shoulders.

Actually, Harrier is right, in more ways than one.

Not sure I understand this. A football team does need to score twice or more to get 14 points, but a soccer team needs to score twice to get 2 points. So its essentially the same, except you can't score half goals in soccer.

Obviously the average number of times teams score in football is greater than in soccer. But 14 football points is certainly equivalent to 2 soccer goals.

You have identified Harrier's point.

Harrier doesn't know the average points of the highest scoring NFL team, but it is likely higher than 11.64, which is the equivalent of 1.94 given the standard touchdown value of 6 points.

Soccer is a boring game which often ends in very low scoring results.

Hence, Harrier prefers the Hawks.

Nothing against Sounders fans, they do fill the Clink.

You could easily guess which team I'd pick based on my username. It shouldn't be a contest, the Hawks play in the NFL which is far and away the most popular sports league in the country and with all due respect to the Sounders, they play in a glorified minor league. Now Mariners vs Sounders would be interesting as the MLB is declining in popularity throughout the country while soccer is gaining more fans.
