And they wonder why women do not smile at them personally?.......Anger these frustrated young men are expressing...

People just are not going to smile at an undersexed neanderthal man, carrying a club hunting for woman.
"UUUH... Need woman to cook...Uh...uh"

Face it guys you do not share any interests, passions, or beliefs with these women you are meeting...

No one owes anyone a smile! YOU gotta earn it...

Oh by the way RotseCherut,

I am a guy, been married 20 years, and filled more than one passport with stamps from all of northern Europe and Scandinavia. Yes, I am guilty of being a Socialist and quite progressive with my viewpoints....

.. Your eastern European dream girl... Careful... Sure she may be your subordinate in public for a few years till she gets acclimated... But in private, SHE will be the boss of the house, and if you do not behave you will get that Stiletto heel you so pine for right where it counts...

Seriously!

And yes their are places in the world were animals are traded for girls, where girls are not allowed an education and forced into marriage as children with men two or three times their age. Also under certain sects of Islamic law stoning of women is still practiced to this day!!!!!!

Call me a feminist, but personally I am repulsed by these backwards attitudes to women... While there is still so much inequity still in our world.

My personal opinion, looking for foreign women is asinine. The grass isn't always greener

Default eye of the beholder

I wish that people would post some kind of pics (even just from the web) of what they are describing when they make these attractiveness posts. I mean, we are from all over the U.S. and don't see what you are describing. We might think you're crazy if you did...but most likely would just acknowledge that different people like different looks.

I read a book about the Amanda Knox scandal. She is from Seattle and I would say she is very beautiful for a natural girl (I mean without make-up). That is just my opinion. Who embodies your idea of beauty?

I personally don't find women in Seattle that attractive. But majority of the women I've met in Seattle are white, and I personally don't find white women attractive as a whole. The black women in Seattle are substandard, as are the latina women as well. The asian women are Seattle's only redeeming quality, but a little too fobby for my taste. Don't get me wrong, asian fobby women are even WORSE in the Bay.

I did see an attractive asian woman in Seattle once. Well it was Bellevue. I was at a subway, and she was getting out of a nice Meredes SLR. And man was she TALL. Now I'm 6'4, and I don't like tall women generally. But I must say, seeing a tall asian like that was nice.

These days, the only thing that gets my attention are black and latin women. I can deal with asians, only under certain conditions. I'm more partial to asian milfs though. OMG, people are so sleeping on asian milfs.

There's already an extensive thread (over 30 pages) about this, it's not a Seattle women thing. A lot of people, including males, do not agree with your stance. It is demeaning and rude to demand something from a stranger (male or female).

What's the deal with guys always wanting women to smile?

OP - I can only add a few things that haven't been said and I'm going to be nice and cut you slack because I think you are young and not completely aware of what you are saying and how offensive it sounds to so many. I will echo that I think the climate does not lend itself well to the level of personal grooming you desire and I also think the amazing outdoors up here attracts a more natural type of girl, a la Amanda Knox (whom I think is very, very naturally pretty BTW). That being said, I am in my 40's (not your demographic) but I know lots of moms out on the Eastside who still spend a good bit of time on their daily presentation. Guessing there were also like that in their 20's and many of them are native WA gals.

-If you like the highlighted, tanned, perfectly done nails, dressed to the 9's kind of girl - be careful. Someday, you might be helping foot the bill for that maintenance. Highlights and a cut can run you $180-$250 with tip every 6 weeks. Even a lower end pair of designer jeans starts at $100 and that's pretty inexpensive, cute heels or boots $150 on the low end, Lululemon yoga pants $100, manicures/pedicures $100 a month, hot yoga membership to keep that smokin' hot bod $250 a month...you get the picture. You might be in the date and leave 'em mode right now but someday just maybe you might want to settle down and might decide that those low maintenance Seattle gals you ripped in this thread look pretty darn desirable to spend your life with. That, and she might just be a software engineer and able to afford YOUR highlights.

-I lived in Denver for 4 years and the women look very much the same here. The guys I knew there had a "test" for women. They'd take you camping for a weekend to see how high maintenance you were. They wanted to see how you looked without makeup and a regular shower, whether you'd complain after hikiing for 6 hours with a 30 lb pack on your back and in general if you were interesting enough to talk to for 3 straight days when there wasn't a crowd around. IMO, the test worked both ways

-I lived in Austin for over a decade up until moving to Seattle in 2007 and my husband went to grad school there. I don't see any difference in the women there vs the women here other than they are tan (so they maybe look healthier...which is a good look until you are 40 and realize how old you look from the sun damage...but I digress). I taught fitness classes there and I teach them here...there is no difference in fitness ability. But flip flops and baseball hats are regularly worn by Austin women. Granted they are wearing them with short jean cutoffs but it's different...it's 100 degress there for half the year. But Austin women very much go makeup free with a pony tail much of the time. Maybe not near campus (assuming you were down on 6th street) but if you hung around the lake for any of the time you were there, girls are not slicking on makeup just so it can slide off their faces. And the funny thing is, Dallas women rip on Austin women for the very reasons you stated in your post! So if you'd have said Dallas instead of Austin, I would have believed you...

-I did live in Dallas and regularly traveled to Atlanta and DC when I was in my 20's. I will give you this that the young women there were dressed to the nines and perfectly coifed. There was a lot of pressure to be that way and a lot of emphasis on looks. I found it actually very sad and a little stressful and harder to meet authentic people.

-Someday you might have a daughter or a wife that you really treasure. And then you will understand the negativity you have stirred up with your post. As many have stated, it might be a good idea for you to move somewhere else while you are footloose and fancy free. I don't mean this in a "don't let the door hit you on the way out" way but in a "get out and see the world and educate yourself on life elsewhere kind of way".

The only thing unattractive and high-maintenance in Seattle is this thread.

We can generalize all day, but in the end, it does nothing to further anybody's cause, or make us happier.

/thread.
