Hello. I have a friend moving to Seattle for a job at Virginia Mason Hospital. He would like to live close to work, downtown and things to do within walking distance. I thought Capitol Hill would be a good area for him. I'm wondering if anybody knows of any decent, quiet apartment complexes in that area? Are there any other areas close to the hospital that may be a little cheaper than Capitol Hill? His rent budget is $1000/ month for a 1 bdrm but I have found that studios go for that price on CH. He also has a vehicle. I will be looking at a few places for him before he makes the big move. Thanks!

~Tania

I'd say look for places in the Central District or in Madison Valley. They'll still be close to Virginia Mason, but rents will be less expensive than Capitol Hill.

If you are looking for cheap places, be ready to walk in the neighborhood that you want to live in and look for signs. Very rarely do folks with inexpensive rentals advertise on the internet (largely because they do not have to).
