OK I know Seattle isn't known for often having weather appropriate for sitting outside and having a nice drink.

Nevertheless, I'd like some lively and social place where one can go and have a drink outdoors.

What do you nice folks recommend?

I'm coming from south of the Ship Canal, so something on my side would be my preference. I don't want to waste all the precious sunshine sitting in traffic.

I'd love to help, but "south of the Ship Canal" is an awfully wide net to cast...

The Lookout on Capitol Hill has an amazing view from their patio!

Smartypants in Georgetown makes really good sandwiches, lots to drink, and has a big outdoor patio.
A Terrible Beauty Irish pub in Renton has an outdoor space, as well as the Dog and Pony in Renton. Good food there, busy/lively, and they show movies on an outdoor screen one night a week in the summer.

Thanks for the tips. I thought some personal recommendations would be better than the usual websearch delivered editorial content.

FYI I did find these:
25 of Seattle's Best Restaurant & Bar Patios - Eater Maps - Eater Seattle
Outdoor Bars in Seattle - Patio Power Rank - Thrillist Seattle

Now I just need to quit doing the raindance... or maybe bring it on the road to Cali where they could use a little moisture from the sky.

Little Water Cantina is quite cool - & their drinks & food are great! Pine Box in Capitol Hill has a nice little outdoor area.

I think Von Trapp's might have a patio now.

I don't know what it is like in your area but in our area the outdoor beer gardens were built specifically for those who smoke since smoking is not allowed inside buildings any longer.
If you are not a smoker or don't like cigarette smoke this may not be an option for you. Just something to consider when looking for a place to enjoy.
