Single Female Relocating to Seattle
I've recently decided to uproot myself from Washington, DC and move to Seattle and would really appreciate some living location suggestions.
I'll be working in Redmond and even though I would prefer to live in a cabin in the woods, my friends say that since I am recenty single and under 30, I have to live "in the mix of things". However, I would also like to live in an area where I'd feel safe walking around by myself at night. Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

The nice thing about living in the Redmond area is that pretty much anywhere east you will feel like you are out in the woods, yet not be far from "the mix of things." Try Woodinville, Redmond, Sammamish, Issaquah and even the outskirts of Bellevue for that woodsy feeling. And in 30 minutes you are either snow skiing or at a down town club. Take your pick. You will love it here! You can email me thru this forum if you have any questions.

Hi,
And if you can tolerate a little bit of a drive, some people go up to North Bend or Snoqualmie. You really are in the woods & mountains up there. It's a farily easy shot to Redmond on I-90.

Hello Single Female!
You'll love living in this area. To the other recommendations, I would suggest looking at Kirkland and Edmonds as well. Both of these areas have plenty of "mix" and nice areas for walking around safely.

I like Issaquah for woodsiness, I remember there was one nice trail I used to walk up a lot when I wanted to get away from Seattle for a while .... I think it was Tiger Mountain or something like that, the trailhead was by a high school. There are lots of other trails in that area also that I never explored.

I concur with cpaige1038 on Edmonds. I moved here three years ago and love it.
