How much extra time in general? For example, driving from Federal Way to downtown Seattle? For other places, If it says 20 min on google maps, how long would it take realistically during rush hr?

I would always say double for normal rush hour traffic, but if you have a job interview, flight or other deadline, make it 3 times as long (for 20 minute drive=1 hour) to be safe. Our traffic is totally unpredictable. A little rain starting , the sun popping out of a cloud, or an eagle on a light pole can cause a slowdown, and with an accident all bets are off.

I was hoping for 1.5x not 2x, but maybe it is just hope not reality.
And hope again it depends on specific not my route.
This place can't be LA or NY, or not.

LA traffic is congested because there are way too many people for the freeways to handle and they all drive alone. When the traffic clears they drive 10-15 MPH over the limit and you can make up for some of that lost time.

Here, people drive less than the limit and cause it to become congested, and any little thing that changes causes everyone to brake. We also have choke points due to insufficient planning, with short on ramps and signal lights that cause huge backups onto the city streets.
