Agreed. I wouldn't care if that Cuban sandwich was made by the devil himself! Seriously. it was THAT good.

So what alternatives are there now? That was literally the best sandwich I'd ever eaten in my entire life.

WHAT DO I DO NOW??!??!!!?

Yeah I've been feeling down because of this for the past few days.

There is no doubt that the owners made a ton of money here. Obviously it's easy to get in trouble with the IRS when you are cash only and have a line out the door every day but don't report much revenue or profit. I honestly don't care what they were doing to their worker's wages...if the employees didn't like it, they could quit. Looks like a nice opportunity for someone who was a manager or something like that to open up a clone. Heck, I'd try to buy the same location if possible...

RVD.

Go to Georgetown. The Hitchcock Deli there makes sandwiches very possibly as good as Paseo's.

Totally different type of sandwich, but if you like pastrami and are up in the north end, Barney's in Everett is reeeeeally good. Or I hear Market House Meats in downtown Seattle makes damn good sandwiches. Never been there, though.

I'm curious about the place called Bing's in Madison Valley - I might have to try it.

Funny you should say that, RVD.

Kickstarter aims to raise $250,000 to save Paseo | Eat & Drink | Seattle Refined - Life is Different Here

I'm strongly considering being an investor. Sandwich futures are looking good. So sooooo good.... now I'm hungry again.

Call me a sucker, but I pledged! Can't sit and whine without trying to do something about it!

In a city already lacking in good affordable eating places, this is a real knife in the heart..

I was listening to Rachelle Belle (I think she's a food critic) on KIRO radio today, and she recommended a place called "Marination Station" on Cap. Hill as comparable. The KIRO host (Mark Rahner) said that he 'needed a shower' after eating a Paseo sandwich, presumably meaning that it was loaded with unsaturated fat.

I can't find a podcast of it, but Rachel seems to be the go to person on this story. She has some coverage here:

Paseo lawsuit: Can undocumented workers sue and win? - Blog - KIRORadio.com

Again, I can't fathom waiting in line around the block for a sandwich that requires taking a shower after eating it.
