Yes I hinted at this a few posts up. Find a name that fits and use it!

Just to confirm, the posts about the county being named after a Vice-President is true. I could not find anything that explains why the change was made to MLK, but I think we all know why. The original King was a slave holder. In a way King County was decades ahead of other liberals.

Now we have,
Indigenous people day vs Columbus Day
Schools named "Washington" changing names
Confederate flags coming down

One day Mt Rushmore will be destroyed. At that point I think it becomes official, USA is a new nation.

George Washington owned slaves. Should we rename the state?

Because King County is run by posers, pretenders, and apologists. So despite the fact that Seattle has basically zero ties to Martin Luther King, it was exceedingly important for county commissioners to flex their white guilt muscles as hard as possible to show that they were sorry for crimes their predecessors in the 1960s took absolutely no part in perpetrating.

You are correct with all your references. My only point is naming the county likely had little to do with the person, more to do with the name. A great "county" name. Sometimes we over-think these things, IMO. It is KING County, and I doubt anyone living today cares who it was actually named after.
