The voters barely approved the football stadium, after voting down the baseball stadium which got built anyway. Paul Allen got to pick when he wanted the election, he chose end of June when many people would be on vacation, then he went and outspent the opposition 25-1.

If it wasn't for that 1995 season, Safeco doesn't get built and the Mariners are in Tampa. Even though I am a die hard Yankees fan, I love going to Safeco to watch a game. I have yet to go to a game at Qwest and hopefully will as my Jets will make their first visit there this year. I heard the stadium is georgous and the seats are covered. I agree that football should be played in the elements as well.

Ironically, its the nosebleeds that are best covered. Hehehe. But, its Seattle. If you can't handle the rain, get out of town.

I however believe that we could have accomplished the needs of both teams by building 1 stadium, and that would have saved the taxpayers money, since they're rarely if ever both being used at the same time.

That being said, I love them both.

Oh, and the numbering system? I HATE it when I see Garfield, Hayes, Lincoln, etc. I don't remember the damn order of the presidents... I can remember 1,2,3,4,5 though, and the cardinal directions aren't that hard to figure out. Once you remember where Baker and Rainer are through the cloud cover, you're set.
