Any tips on getting a job at Boeing? I have applied for a few jobs exactly as they ask you to do and got dropped after a few days every time.
To mention I have perfect employment history, no criminal record, stellar references, speak multiple languages, have better general education then most with 4 year degrees and have exceptional creative powers to show but I don't have a formal degree...

In particular I'd like to know:

- As an experienced and certified auto-technician with no union time under my belt do I stand a chance only with applying for a least paying jobs? I am assuming once I am in that position I can start training for some better paying spots?

- Once employed, does Boeing offer management/administrative training for unionized workers or only to other union negotiated positions?

- Am I OK applying for multiple positions at once and with the same resume?

- Anything else you think I should know before I apply.

I know what I'd excel at at Boeing but I realize those positions might be more desirable and I might have to start at the very bottom, or do?

Thank you for the time and effort.

Boeing is very stuck up and impressed with theirselves. Period. I know, I worked there for over 20 years. I worked in Engineering-Technical at the Everett plant working on the 767 jetliner. Glad ta be gone. Like a lot of companies ta work for you're never in control of your job or really your entire life. They own you and the Boeing workplace creates a lot internal stress by the very nature of it's engineering beast.

Go ahead and try to get on there but they really believe they're God's gift to aerospace and you're barely worth their time. Sorry, but I've done the Boeing thing. Potluck lunches and lots of overtime and good pay and great benefits but hard to score a job there. Once you're in it can be enormously stressful and not a lot of fun.

Oh, layoffs? Just part of the culture and it happened twice to me there. The last time was in May of 2003 and I took the Trade Act deal and got re-trained in Allied Healthcare. And guess what? I'm back in Washington state again, only this time I'm in eastern Washington. For now.

Stay tuned. Have rolley-polley suitcase, love jet aeroplanes and not afraid ta relocate or travel, baby.

Try to get hired by a Boeing contractor and then, hopefully, get offered permanent later.
