Default Orcas Island - what do I need to know?
I'm retiring and I want to move to Orcas Island. It seems dreamy but I wonder what the down-sides are! Please help!

It's absolutely gorgeous!

The downside.

One way in , one way out ferry ride to the mainland.. a few hours, and then a few hours drive to the greater Seattle Area.

You could take a Sea Plane Also.

It's a little remote, but I think that's a good thing. Very Quaint town. My family used to vacation there in the summer. My friends were married there too!

I would recommend focusing in on medical facilities and meeting those needs is you expect issues with health in the present or future.

Otherwise, it is quite a place to live. : )
