I'm moving to Seattle for a new job this September. I need to rent an apartment in central Seattle area but have no time to visit for the apartment search. So I'm thinking of getting a temporary housing(airbnb or sth) before I find one to lease. My question is how long typically it takes to get an apartment leased and move in if I start to contact landlords just before my arrival to Seattle.

There are enough new apt buildings around that you should be able to find something you could move into within days, if you can afford the market. If you have a really tight budget it might take a bit longer, only because those get snatched up quicker and since many are older buildings, they may already be full.
