First of all, the schools are EXCELLENT. Top notch. The scores are the same as Bellevue, Issaquah and Mercer Island. Secondly, the commute is better to Seattle than from most places in King County. In fact, it is quicker to get to Bellevue or Seattle from Snoqualmie Ridge than many parts of Issaquah and certainly all of Sammamish. Our proximity to I-90 is the difference. Of all the freeways in the region, I-90 moves the best by far. The weather is about 2 degrees warmer in the summer and 2 degrees colder in the winter than Seattle and maybe Issaquah. Non-factor. We are getting a Safeway with gas within the year and have many fine restaurants. The beauty is stunning, the homes less expensive (that is changing) with larger lots than Issaquah Highlands. It truly is a wonderful place up here. Safe, family oriented and stunningly beautiful. The median income is higher than Issaquah or Bellevue and we have an our own excellent police department. Snoqualmie Ridge doesn't flood, far, far too high of an elevation. We let our children run out and play freely through the neighborhoods just like when we were all kids. Try doing that safely in Seattle, Bellevue or even Issaquah. It's amazing here, and getting more amazing all the time.
Don't try to compare the Ridge to entire cities (MI, Bellevue or Issaquah). A fair comparison would be either comparing the Ridge to other divisions (like the Highlands) or compare all of Snoqualmie to other cities.

Um kids play outside all the time safely in these areas. My kids actually take the city bus safely every day.

Kids in my neighborhood (edge of Arbor Heights) can do that, too.

I hope they aren't the ones tagging all the buildings in Issaquah Highlands with graffiti! What a mess.

Eight months since the OP. One presumes they've moved on in their hunt.

So textbook 'Ridge' (Stepford). They feel as if they are the shining city on the hill. Yet folks wonder why they can't seem to assimilate with the original blue collar locals. That entire comment made my skin crawl.
