What are the most reasonably priced neighborhoods in Seattle? Is it more expensive than the SF Bay Area?

Seattle proper or Seattle area?

Where do you want to live? Pedestrian-friendly urban or car-friendly suburban?

What's your commute tolerance (in minutes): By Car? By Transit?

Seattle is quite a bit less expensive than San Francisco, but I don't know about the rest of the Bay Area.

The most reasonably priced neighborhoods are the ones with more crime, fewer amenities, poor schools, and maybe tougher commutes. Is that what you're looking for?

We moved here from Castro Valley, and still have friends/family there and in other parts of the Bay Area. Figure Seattle to be about 25% less expensive than the easy bay, maybe 40% less than San Francisco. Where we are now in Sammamish the median home price is $679,000. That's just a little over half the price of homes in Lafayette or Walnut Creek which are similar in demographics, crime rate and quality of schools.

Define reasonably priced and we can help. What is your potential budget? Rental? Purchase?

That is exactly where we are coming from. Thank you!

Not everyone works downtown do they? I have friends who work in the city, Google, Yahoo, Cisco, Youtube and Oakland. The commute wouldn't be bad to Bellevue from Issiquah right?

Issaquah to Bellevue would probably work for that. Maybe 40-45 minutes to downtown Seattle.

Leavinonajetplane. Take a look at Bothell. Great schools (Northshore School District), good location for either Seattle or Eastside/Redmond commutes and attractive home prices, price to value.
