Got the dreaded bed bugs in my apartment. Not sure where they came from but thats secondary. I am trying to find a reliable company that can do heat treatment and clear up these bugs but I am having a hard time finding one. Does anyone know of any good bed bug heat treatment removal companies who can help me in Seattle? Desperately looking for help.

Report it to the landlord, if you don't want to be blamed for it. They could have come from a neighboring apartment or somebody could have carried them in (including you). The only way to deal with it is to inspect all apartments (with a bedbug-sniffing dog) and then treat all infested apartments at the same time.

Thanks

Emailing the landlord is the first thing I did. She says there is no need to check neighboring apartments because they have not complained. She sent a PCO who barely bends down to look at anything and keeps saying there is nothing. I have already told my manager that I am getting heat treatment and I will pay, no hassles. My wife is pregnant, I have a 3 yr old at home and I dont want to waste my strength time debating who pays.

Any references please?

Totally inadequate response from the landlord. Just because no one else has complained doesn't mean the bugs aren't coming from another apartment where the tenant is ignoring the problem (because they don't want to be blamed or evicted for it).

E-mail her this article: Horrifying study shows how far bed bugs can spread in apartment buildings. - Seriously, Science?

There are some detection tools and traps that might work to show if you're infested:

[Bed Bug Supplement] Detection Tools and Techniques - PCT - Pest Control Technology

If you can catch or trap one (or several), present it to her, in a jar. If she still refuses to do anything, start looking for another place to live. Be prepared (gather evidence) to sue her in small claims court to get your deposits back.

For some DIY methods: Prevent and Control Bed Bugs

I read there is some controversy over the accuracy and reliability of dog-sniffing. It's as good as the dog, I suppose.

Heat treatment can cost several thousand dollars and would be useless if the real source is next door.

Note that bedbugs are not generally considered to be disease carriers.

budbugs can escape from heat treatment, survive, such as some attics or basements, and come back into the living areas of your home. Heat treatment can destroy your electronics. Standard fumigation, meaning tenting and treating as if for termites, kills ALL bugs and rodent. It is very safe because fumigation uses a GAS that gets into every nook and cranny any insect can hide. So safe, that NEW termites from outside enter your home the very moment the tent comes off because there is no residue to level that is lethal to any insects, and certainly aren't a warranted concern for a human getting ill. Also, the heat treatments or other fad treatments like Orange oil, etc. can be just as expensive or more than traditional tenting/fumigation.

Thanks. I had looked into this and both these options dont work for me since one is chemical and the other cant treat my apartment because its too high for their heaters.

Have you actually seen the bed bugs (or other signs of them), or have you only got bites?

A bed bug monitor(s) can confirm if you're infested and provide evidence if forced to move out:

https://www.google.com/search?q=bedb...ed+bug+monitor

You can purchase mattress, box springs, and pillow "encasements", which will stop any bed bugs from getting out to feed (and kill them):

https://www.google.com/search?q=bedb...ncasement+sets

Interceptors/coasters can trap bed bugs and keep them from climbing up onto your beds (if you move the bed away from walls and keep bedding off the floor):

https://www.google.com/search?q=bedb...2+Interceptors

I have seen bed bugs and showed it to the PCO as well. He did the first treatment which he called preventive treatment. After that I have been bitten once. I already bought what you mentioned above and did everything required. Now I just need to get rid of them without chemicals so that my children are not affected.
