Yup, we've talked about the Renton Walmart before in a thread. I'm not a fan of Walmart but most are much nicer than the one in Renton. The ones I've been to in other parts of the country are nothing like the one in Renton.

And as we've talked about before, I've always liked Central Market.

Just curious if there are any wincos there and if so how is it? I do without the produce and meats there I get a good selection from safeway here.
There's a Winco in Kent and Federal Way.

I'm not a fan either, but the one on Rainier in Renton is indeed horrendous. A thoroughly unpleasant place to visit.

I'm like pittgal, searching for the right grocery stores... wasn't impressed with my first trip to (redmond) Fred Meyer. Seems they have a little bit of a lot of things, but not a good selection of anything.

My quick price scan - I saw a can of spaghetti pre-grated cheese (the green can stuff) for FOUR DOLLARS at Fred Meyer. At Target, it was $2. I'd need to compare my receipts to remember the rest. Target didn't have a huge grocery selection, but it was adequate, and seemed cheaper. Does that sound right? I didn't see their produce (if they have any).

I have never been impressed by the Redmond Fred Meyer either. I'm not sure what it is, but most of the other Fred Meyer's have a much better selection.

Target carries some grocery type items, but I've never seen a Target that could actually be called a "grocery store", no produce, meat, etc...

We don't have any Super Targets here, that I'm aware of. But I'd shop there for food if we did. The small food selection Target does have is usually pretty cheap, without sale prices.

The Redmond Target does have a small grocery section --which I assume that Jenlion was referring to-- and I've found what groceries they do have, have been much less expensive than Fred Meyer as Jenlion showed. I'd say their grocery prices may even be less expensive than possibly Walmart.

Safeway and QFC are basically the same thing, overpriced but they may be the only convenient stores in your location. Albertson's seemed a little more reasonable at the time I was there. Of course Trader Joe's is the coolest place to shop.

Don't neglect shopping in the International District. The best fresh veggies in Seattle are in Uwajimaya.

Walmart is the place to get canned goods or other non-perishables. Best not to even look at the fresh stuff, their quality control isn't too good for that.
