If you are planning a long week end in Chelan, the drive over isn't too long. And it is a scenic drive.

BTW, Leavenworth is interesting.. The Bavarian theme makes the town kind of fun.

I've passed through Roslyn . Interesting place. Happened to be there at the right time, to watch a scene being filmed. This included the actor who played the ex-astronaut.

Took Mom to Leavenworth... she had never been we stayed overnight.

It was the first stop on a loop that included staying in Rainier National Park..

The perfect drive and to places she had always wanted to see.

Of course, another advantage is easy access to Portland, and Vancouver B.C.

Lots of book stores, libraries and art galleries. Also have great theatres like The Moore, The Paramount, 5th Ave Theatre, Act Theatre and many others.

Default Great!

Thank you for this thread. I'm seriously considering moving to Seattle in about 2 years and have been reading through the posts here. Many of them seem to be focused on the negative. It's good to read that, but reading this reinforced why Seattle is on my short list. Thanks for all the great reasons everyone listed. I'm planning a trip for November to check it out more.

It would probably be a good idea to visit Seattle during typical winter weather-overcast, gray, cool, often drizzly/rainy.
