What kind of bugs, i.e., ants, mosquitos, spiders, yellow jackets, are in the Sequim area?

Probably all of the above are there some place, like any other city. My parents are just outside of Sequim in the Blue Mountain area, (unincorporated Port Angeles) and in the 13 years they have been there, I have seen plenty of yellow jackets, but no mosquitos despite having a pond. The frogs and swallows that nest there take care of that. Surprisingly they have never had ants in or near the house, but in the back near their woods (5 acres) they have an ant hill about 3' high that gets bigger every year. They are carpenter ants, eating dead decaying wood. I offered to blow it up but my Mom likes it. Their spiders such as Hobo are common but not nearly as bad as in the Seattle area. I think the biggest pest is the moles, and depending on what plants you have, deer.
