Coming from CA, it's pretty much easy to find a donut any time you want one, without more than a 10 minute drive.

I find it particularly hard to find a good donut at all in the greater Seattle area (Top Pot and Delite Bakery are the best I've found), and even harder to find one at 1am. My son needs a drive usually to fall asleep and my husband and I often find ourselves driving to Federal Way for Del Taco and wouldn't mind finding a 24 hour donut shop somewhere between Federal Way and Issaquah.

Any suggestions?

V. =)

Man, that's a good question. I can't think of one besides Krispy Kreme

There's a Winchell's somewhere in Seattle (U-District?). I don't know if they're any good.

I know they are a big ol' chain, but there was a story in the paper last week about the possibility of Dunkin Donuts expanding and possibly coming to Seattle someday, to take on Starbucks.

Yeah, Winchell's used to be open 24 hours. I grew up in the neighborhood and remember them from waaaay back. They're on 45th at about Latona.

Dunkin used to have a few locations in the Seattle area but they've since pulled out of the market. There used to be one in downtown Renton and another in Des Moines. It's great that they're thinking of coming back.

I hadn't really thought about it until you mentioned it Veronika but there are quite a few 24 hour donut shops in Cali. If you're really serious about getting your 24 hour donut "fix" it might be worth the drive to go to Winchells on 45th in Seattle. It's in Wallingford right off the freeway. Donuts are pretty fattening though. Aren't you the one who said people on the Eastside were giving you a hard time about your weight?

As far as driving to Federal Way for Del Taco, I've done something similar. I've driven to Covington to eat at Carl's Jr. I would drive even further if they opened an In-N-Out Burger somewhere in Western Washington.

Yeah and they also have one in Tacoma. I asked the girl working there if they had any plans to open a Carl's Jr in Seattle and she said they do! It's going to be in Lake City.

Thanks, la_fuerza. Yeah, all that's needed now is an In-N-Out.

So do you know for sure that the Winchells is still open 24 hours?

I know the Winchell's in Wallingford is 24 hours, as I drive past there regularly when I take my son to his pediatrician, that's just sort of out of the way from the Del Taco. LOL We have yet to make the drive to Carl's Jr., though we've talked about going there.

I wish they'd replace all the Taco Times with Del Tacos, I don't know how people can eat at Taco Time. Blah!

And there is a Dunkin Donuts, in Kent, maybe? I'm not sure, we drove there one night from Del Taco (thank you Garmin GPS), and they were as craptacular as I remember them being on the East Coast. Good coffee drinks, pathetic excuse for donuts. LOL

Wow you drive from Issaquah to Wallingford for your peditrician? We go to Wallingford Pediatrics (Dr SPringer and Dr Hebner) is that where you go? They are very nice there

Oh yeah and I totally agree on Taco Time - it blows. But I really can't find much in the way of good mexican food up here. Gorditos in Greenwood is probably the best I've found.
