interesting, Buckley over Enumclaw, any particular reason why? How is their fine arts program, do they have honors courses, specifically for math?

any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It's a beautiful area, a fairly flat valley right at the foothills of the cascades. Some amazing views of Mount Rainier from in or around Enumclaw. It's a long commute to Bellevue, even longer to Seattle, if that's where you're going to work but living there might be worth it.

Feels like a small town, which it is. I used to do deliveries in and around Enumclaw every day for several years, I love it down there.

45 min from some of the best downhill skiing around at Crystal Mtn. If you just like getting up in the hills and exploring on logging roads there are many of them a short distance up hwy 410. Some decent river fishing down towards Carbonado, not to far away.

The King County Fairgrounds is in Enumclaw, there are a lot of things going on there during the year.

Buckley is nice too, and has the advantage of being in Pierce County and not King County and not subject to the ruling council in Seattle. If you're looking to buy acreage that would be a good reason to look at Buckley vs Enumclaw - Pierce County doesn't have the CAO which effectively steals 2/3 of your property if you have more than 5 acres in unincorporated King County.

It's not stealing. You still get to pay taxes on it, you just can't use it...Maybe it's worse than stealing.

Pierce county does have the CAO, just not as strict, all urban counties have this.

You can pay reduced taxes if you go through the paper work.

Thumbs up Positives about Enumclaw

I grew up in Buckley, which is located right next to Enumclaw, and even more of a hick town. However, I have lived all over and consider both of these towns to be excellent choices for raising a family. Enumclaw schools are really good.

HAHA lotsa people around here call that place Enumscratch. Anywho.. its just a little country farming town. It is quiet and I dont think theres much crime goin on over there. Not sure about the schools, but im guessing they would be ok. But as far as your kids getting very bored, I can see that happening there. Not much to do at all. OH and be careful not to go like 1 mile over the speed limit or 1 under cuz if you do... you'll get pulled over! Lets just say the cops get kinda bored out there.
