For our family, a Seattle afternoon around Pier 54 eating at Ivars and feeding the seagulls is quintessential. Everyone has a favorite but I like the clam chowder and crab cakes.

Eastside Casual: Santorini, Greek in Kirkland.

Seattle: El Gaucho, though I've not been in some years.

Metropolitan Grill for business lunch or friends in from out of town, it's a treat.

Taco truck - corner of Rainier Ave S and S Graham; then across the street from there is Madawadda Café. A few blocks south - Big Chickie and Poke to the Max. I don't have to travel far for a wide variety of great food at great prices.

The Cafe at Ray's Boathouse (upstairs) - not as expensive as the restaurant, and has a deck right on Puget Sound.
