The obvious take-away is that the legislature doesn't look like a cross-section of Washington.

Based on numbers and the percentages of residents, there would be 4 blacks, 8 Asians, 12 Hispanics among the 98 legislators to represent the population. While one cannot always tell from their pictures, it would appear that there is one black (short only by 3) but a more severe lack of Asians, and worse, apparently no Hispanics.

There are lots in Bothell. My husband thinks they are everywhere here. And of course, we welcome them with open arms. I'm starting to see them in our church too!

But that data does not reflect the desires by large subsets of minority populations to want to live in the same small areas.

If you distributed everyone randomly around the state and then 'they' claimed to have selected RANDOMLY among the populace, for political representatives, then that is what you should expect to see.

But of course that isn't how representatives are chosen.
