Unscientific observation just now in Seattle at Fred Meyer while getting storm prep items: 5 Hillary Halloween masks left in stock. Zero Trump masks.

Our Safeway (Sammamish) actually has Trump bobbleheads, marked down from $29.95 to $19.95

Our power has gone off twice today, but back on within minutes. I also heard of an outage in Seattle (Queen Anne). The really bad one may be here sooner than expected, by tomorrow afternoon.

Cliff Mass updated his blog this afternoon about 1:30. He says that all of the forecast models are in agreement: this will be equivalent to the Hanukkah Eve storm of 2006. The only caveat is that if the storm goes off track a bit - maybe even 100 miles off - the storm won't be as severe. So there is a bit of uncertainty...if the forecast is off, won't we be a bit less inclined to trust the weather forecasters next time?

Now that's impressive.

We can never trust the forecasters, but have no choice but to be prepared on the odd chance they are right. They didn't predict what we got today, and last night was overblown. Hopefully they will be wrong tomorrow. They are like baseball hitters, paid to be successful 1/3 of the time.

So was today better or worse than the forecast predicted?

I am really hoping the over blow tomorrow evening too... literally!

It was way better. There were some harsh winds and moments of powerful rain, but nothing worth boarding up your house and filling up your bathtub over. Heck, for the past two hours the sky has opened up a bit and let some beautiful sunlight through!

There was definitely a lot of water, though. As evidenced by Snoqualamine Falls seemingly puking out water.
