Default Traffic?

Hi All. There is a chance my husband and I will be moving to the Seattle area next year sometime and I was just wondering what the traffic is like there and what a "normal" commute is. I have heard people complain about the traffic in Seattle and wanted to know how it compares to where we're at now. We currently live in the DC area where traffic is just a way of life and most people I know have at least an hour (one-way) commute. I was just wondering if that's more or less than Seattle.

Thanks!

I'd put an hour on the longer side for the area, but far from unusual. You can get some idea of expected travel times between various locations here: WSDOT - 95% Reliable Travel Times

The longer commutes into Seattle and Bellevue are along the I-5/SR167 corridor. The nice thing is that there are some pretty good options for public transit along those corridor as well, particularly the Sounder train into Seattle.
