We are holding our rental condo price to that of fall 2015 . Our renters, both professionals, bought a home .

Just in the last few days 3 family members or friends have told me that their rental has been sold, and the new owner has raised the rent substantially. Another had to move out, as the new owner was moving in. I expect to see more of this, landlords cashing out while prices are high, and that will cause even higher rents.

They'll continue to go up in more "central" areas with continuing high demand (shorter commutes), while possibly plateauing in more peripheral areas with slackening demand (longer commutes), especially in areas impacted by ongoing Boeing lay-offs.

Totally agree! Life is short; find happiness elsewhere and free up the space.

I work in corporate housing and consequently work very closely with apartment communities downtown. One community told me they are anticipating a 17% drop in their rents next winter because of all the new units coming online. Lets hope that's the case!

I realize this. I lived in a state I HATED for almost a decade. I stayed positive, saved up, planned and did research for years. I finally got out, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I wish more people would do this instead of complaining constantly and blaming everyone/everything but themselves.

So the $4,000 units drop to $3,480, that's going to be a big help to those that can afford $3,480 I suppose.
