So...we came from San Diego and the former home of the terrible Chargers and their ownership. I've been impressed with the level of enthusiasm and support the Seahawks have....but their performance has been in all fairness uneven. Is this in atypical year?

They’ve been pretty uneven since losing the Super Bowl. I think you’ll also see the support fall off as the team will probably need to rebuild soon. From what I understand (I wasn’t here so can’t confirm first hand) the support wasn’t great in the 90s and early 2000s and there’s been a massive bandwagon effect. That being said, I’ve never seen so many adults wear football jerseys out and about in my life.

Yes, a gradual decline due to the aging of the best players, followed by a lot of major injuries this year. The Seattle area sports fans are textbook examples of bandwagon jumpers, as evidenced by the many Jerseys the last few years, and the attendance peaks and valleys for the Mariners since 1995 that correlate with their record. The Sounders may be an exception, due to the number of immigrants here from big soccer countries, and the games having such a fan participation experience.

The Sounders don't seem any more immigrant-heavy (visibly at least) than the general public.

The Seahawks have been popular since soon after Paul Allen bought them. They were unpopular when Behring owned them...it was fairly similar to the carpetbagger from Oklahoma, including trucks heading to LA as they started to move before the guy got cornered. The brief unpopularity was the only real serious gap I recall in over three decades.

The Mariners follow the peaks and valleys much more, with large swings in attendance and general enthusiasm.

As for this year's and next year's Seahawks, if they're this good with so many injured players, what will they be like if they're a little healthier next year? Some key players a little older and maybe a couple gone, but I don't see a decline.

I was thinking that, too, that when Kam Bam and Sherman come back healthy, look out! They had KJ Wright and Bobby Wagner on Sunday afternoon, and that was key. Kudos to the offensive line, though, for some decent blocking, and Davis at running back for keeping 'em honest on the Cowboy defense so Russell Wilson could work his magic. Good job from Paul Richardson, and, need we forget, solid jobs from Jimmy Graham and from Doug Baldwin. The Seahawk's looked like a playoff team on Sunday.

But, and it is a big 'ole butt, the Cowboy's are not the 13-3 team this year like they were last year. Suspensions and injuries have messed up their year. But our Seahawk's, man, I don't know. I never stop rooting for them and the game Sunday is huge. Atlanta has ta lose at home against Carolina, and Carolina is an on again and then off again football team. Hopefully the Panthers will want to go in to the playoffs with a head of steam and they'll beat the Falcons for us.

We will beat Arizona, pretty much a sure thing. I'll say SEA 27 AZ 13. Go Seahawk's!

I think Elko has some good point there. I hear a lot about ageing key players and our defense was strung thin. I think if we can get the offensive line and a a greater ground threat then that'd keep our defense much healthier.

The offense needs more first downs and ability to grind the clock to allow the defense a bit more rest.

They've been decent at finding new talent. George Fant was apparently going to be way better this year before he got injured. We'll have some running backs back at full speed including Prosise who's great catching the ball along with McKissic who creates matchup problems as an RB/WR. Nick Vannett seems decent as a rookine TE. On defense Jarran Reed and Shaq Griffin have been good. Last year's 2nd round pick DT Malik McDowell will hopefully be good to go next year.

I'm also optimistic because Russell Wilson can win with even a decent team around him. Give him an average offensive line and running game and holy cow.

Well we all know what I think of my Hawks.... fan since the start even from the bottom of south Texas . This era has been a treat of all treats . Has been a total joy to watch . I hate seeing some of our favorites age out and worse get hurt so bad they have to stop , but one thing is for sure - we will never forget this group .

I personally wish Brandon Mebane had not gone to the Chargers . I miss that belly roll of his .

Seahawks attendance has remained pretty consistently high since at least 2008 when they went 4-12. I'm not sure about the TV viewing numbers though. NFL attendance as whole has been on the decline since it peaked in 2007.

For me, the game has become too slow and prone to serious injuries. They need to introduce some player weight caps (under 280 lbs. for example), build better body protection, get rid of many useless foul calls, and speed up the action.
