You couldn't pay me to walk around Seattle without shoes and socks on, or city for that matter. Too much gross out there.

Isn't it too cold in Seattle compared to OC?

It's been starting to warm up here by end of February/early March (which saddens me greatly). And it's still warm in September most years. So I'd say March through October. Those are my flip-flop months, anyway. ;-)

Yes. Warming trend is here to stay. Come the middle of February, we now have a good chance of temps in the low to mid 60s during the day, mid-40s at night. It starts to feel like spring earlier and earlier. Yes, September is warm, it's still prime wildfire season across the west coast, including the PNW. October is the transition month, and by Thanksgiving (November) winter is about to start.

Something else I realized, during winter, our evening winter temps usually are on par with desert areas like Arizona and Nevada, i.e. low 40s. It can get really cold on an Arizona winter night, experienced it firsthand. It's gradually becoming more rare we get below freezing, and also why snow also is increasingly rare west of the Cascade mountains.

The fact that people in Seattle wear shorts in 40-50 degree weather may speak more to their desperation for warm weather rather than an actual level of comfort...

To be a little more transparent, shorts weather in Seattle is from July til September. And only during the day (it’s in the 50s at night during summer).

I’m comfortable in shorts down to the 30s...so year round. But I’m also miserable above 75 degrees.

Yesterday is was 90 degrees. Today it was 86, and it's expected to be hotter tomorrow. Overnight temps are not in the 50s, and they're often high enough (like last night) that my house didn't cool down. It was stifling in the morning, and even with windows open it is currently 84 degrees inside at 11:30 p.m. Again, I don't know why people insist that it's cooler here than it really is.
