Default Finding a job in Seattle

Hi everyone, I have a question about job searching in Seattle. I know the economy is not the greatest now, but how difficult is it in the Seattle area to get a job for a college student? Someone basically without their degree yet.

Would you say that the cost of living and the minimum wage balance out? If you can live by a budget (which I can) is it possible to rent and do it with the lower pay? Any info helps.

Daniel

I guess it would depend on what your work experience is. I only have knowledge of high tech jobs, and I can tell you that industry is not slowing down here in Seattle.

If you're talking about entry-level, minimum wage jobs, I don't think it's possible to live on your own in Seattle with one. You'd have to have roommates.

scoutfinch87 is on a distinguished road
I'm going through the same thing -- new grad looking from out of state for positions in Seattle/surrounding area (or anywhere other than where I currently am for that matter) in UI/Interaction/Visual/Graphic Design and though it's not tough to get replies back, it is tough once they find out I'm not currently there (I'm currently living with my folks near Dallas). I wish someone would just give me a chance already! I just graduated from college out in the Bay Area in December, but it seems that once you leave the West Coast, employers are making it very difficult for me to return. I still believe that Washington would provide a more affordable alternative than the Bay Area.
