We're planning to move in December, my husband has lived there and it's the only place that's felt like "home" to him (he's from the Midwest, but lived in WA for 5 years). He came to NC to be with me while I finish grad school, so now it's my turn to live where his career can thrive better. I expect to love it: I love hiking, mild weather and salmon. But who knows what might happen. I think the major determinant will be the kind of job I get.

That about sums it up...I can forget about buying for a long while. Even renting doesn't make sense since the house I can get for what I pay for my townhouse would likely be still only 3 bedrooms (we really need at least 4) and just one bathroom.

That's not going to cut it for an all girl family. And something with that description will likely be the same or less square footage. Anything bigger will be more expensive.

And I can't believe there are houses out there with 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom! What kind of sense does that make?

It's like I keep waiting for someone to say, vacation over, time to go home. Only problem is, I don't know where home is.

Of course, I've only been here 3 months, so go figure.
That's totally how we've felt. It's sort of a surreal feeling, that this is home now.

I had the same feeling and it never went away. It just wasn't "home."

There was an inverse correlation between the number of years we were there and our level of satisfaction. "Hate" is too strong a word, though. It is tough to hate a place that is so beautiful even though there were some really big negatives.

I'm a native, who moved away, and now has returned. After living in San Diego for over twenty years, I can't take the gray skies and colder climate. After just three months here, I'm ready to go back to San Diego. I'm hoping my spirits will pick up soon.

I relocated to the Seattle area and love it here! I've been a resident here for 7 years now. I'm a native Californian mainly from the SF bay area.

I've joined you in that category. Although I fall somewhere between #1 and #2...more of a native who dreams of leaving...but probably won't due to family/career issues
