I voted "People/Culture," but it's not the people or culture, it's the quantity of people living there. Actually, it's the traffic that will keep me from moving back. As to weather being the most voted, all I can say is that I think it rained a lot more when I was growing up in Seattle than it does today.

The house is on the market, but you know how that goes right now. It won't be Omaha, but it will be some place a little more reasonable to live and with more sunshine. That is for sure. I am a native Washintonian too. It's a lot more than just the weather for me. I woke up one day and didn't recognize where I grew up (not in a crazy lost my mind sort of way). So...I figure that, if it's foreign compared to what it used to be anyhow, I might as well just move somewhere that is foreign to me but with a lot better weather, cheaper cost of living, less traffic, better schools, etc. I mean this as no offense to people who absolutely love it here. There are many of those too. Hopefully you will fall into that category. This is just my opinion. I'd have to give you a 1 cent refund for my 2 cents if I said "for what it's worth".

I haven't moved to Seattle because I don't have the money to go live there and I am too far into school to transfer. A transfer could throw off some of my credits and I would have to wait even longer to graduate.

Nothing wrong with playing the banjo, I'm from Arkansas and know people that play, very challenging and an enjoyable instrument to listen to! I've seen a lot of pickup trucks here in seattle too And have seen people wearing those Asian style pointy straw type hats....have seen a good amount of cowboy hats here too Man i miss the south, can't wait to go home for a visit this summer! There is one thing they have in the south they haven't heard of yet here....its this revolutionary contraption called an "air conditioner"....really an amazing gadget! (OMG someone should have told me they don't believe in air conditioners in Seattle before i moved here! )

My cousin plays the banjo, and a lot of other instruments, and she's far from a redneck. =)

OK it looks like my joke ribbing our southern friends is being taken a little seriously. I actually like the banjo and wouldn't mind owning one. sheesh.

I wish the poll was multiple choice!!
My top 3 (in order) and Im sure these are very common choices...
1) Weather--some people love it but Im a sun fan. I put up with the cloudy, cool weather too long.
2) Traffic--some people love it..oh wait--no one loves it but most tolerate it. I just have better things to do than waste 2+ hours per day sitting in my car.
3) Housing expense (cost of housing and property taxes)--Im recently divorced and have no intent of remarrying! I did get custody of our 10 year old daughter and do not want to be a renter but with homes averaging over $450k there is no way (even though I make more than $100k per year) that I can afford to cover that kind of mortgage payment (nor would I want to with college not that far off).
For me, its a quality of life issue. I spent too many years telling myself it was all worth it (20 to be exact) and really regret that decision. Again, this is my opinion and Im sure most will disagree but thats ok.

For the life of me, I cant figure out why Washington State hasnt understood that they need to get the trucks out of the far left lane.
So, 405 really only has one effective lane.

Because not one gives them space to get over. Because its a "I'm more important" road. (I'm more important than you....)
Have you ever driven a 40 foot long truck?
I have. In Seattle. It sucks. No one lets you in. They just bunch up and if you flick on your signal, they speed up and bunch up even more.
So - there's your answer why.
