Ah, if "Favorite Sons", politically, actually meant anything anymore. They don't. Much harder to ride a governor's office to the White House these days, simply because we're so much more divided. The last Washingtonian to be a player in presidential politics was Scoop Jackson, as a war-hawk Democrat.

I'd like to see "new blood" that isn't tied to the politics of the past and thus can cut across divides. New ideas are what should matter, not gender or race.

I wouldn't be surprised if the current president melts down before 2020 and we have 2 women running. I'd love to see that.

If he melts down you get Pence. Which in some ways would be way worse.


I predict some day it will be Kamala Harris vs. Nikki Haley. Either way, our first female president will be an Indian.
