While it does appear Seattle home prices have stabilized, as that article states, the largest price declines are in the areas further out, that saw the largest price increases. As prices increased, people drove until they could afford it.

IIRC, prices aren't actually falling in Seattle proper, but the increases are simply slowing down, with some small drops in outlying areas.

There might be some price drops in the north and south sound, but I think for any type of significant drops to happen in the most core areas, lord Bezos will have to ship a good several thousand jobs or so out of town to one of the HQ2 cities, or something along those lines.

I wouldn't get too excited, prices always stabilize or go down this time of year. Further, my real estate broker friend told me that the projection is that the market will stabilize and hold. In other words, it won't go up so much, but it won't come down too far, either.

The house next door to us finally sold, after 114 days, and reducing it $50k from the original asking price. Still, they got $729,000 for a small 2,000 sf house and had bought it new for under $100k in 1982, so it was paid off.
