Did TV news kill Seattle sledding?

An angry mom confronted King-5 reporter Meg Coyle live on air after SPD shut down sledding on Queen Anne Hill. The mom blamed local media for having prompted police. "Complete and total killjoy," the mom vituperates into the camera as she holds her oversized inner-tube. The reporter had just finished a warning lecture about the dangers of sledding. "Wah, wah, wah," responds anchor Dennis Bounds, as the broadcast is quickly transferred back to the studio.

The mom was later interviewed on KIRO radio by Dori Monson, but the link they give does not seem to work.

As far as I can remember, that 2008 storm was the last big one prior to yesterday. Let's hope we don't have to wait another 10 years for the next!

I remember this one quite well. Media put in their place!

Here is the report at issue:

However, as a matter of safety, the city was correct in this instance.

same mom would be suing the city, news, driver and anyone else she could think of if she or her kids got injured.
