I am looking to buy a house in Bothell and heavily considering Summerland community (http://rmhomes.com/community/summerl...y-location-tab)

Considering that it is on the very edge of Northshore district (https://www1.nsd.org/2019boundary), am I worrying too much that it might get rezoned into Lynnwood edmunds school district in the future? My kids are not in school age yet so thinking more about changes in the next 10 years. As well as considering that Lynnwood hs homes are relatively lower value as well (around $50k difference as of today)

I've heard more of boundaries within a district being redrawn, instead of between districts themselves. Have you heard anything in your community that would support your concern?

I really don't think that is going to happen, there would be an uproar among the people who live there.

I live very close to that development and am zoned for the same schools. My understanding is that district boundaries are difficult to change and it is a very involved process. It would not be a concern to me at all. Edmonds school district, in the areas that border Northshore, is very over crowded, so I'm sure Edmonds SD would have zero interest in absorbing more students into what are already over crowded schools.

Within NSD, we do keep having school zone boundary changes, to adjust for the huge population growth. There were school boundary changes two years ago that affected the area you are looking at, and there will be changes again in 2020, but they are in district only.
