About what time will the conifers spew out all their pollen everywhere? It's happening here now, but we're pine dominated (and much warmer), with no spruce or firs.

I'm interested in that info too, SNY. I used to be very allergic to the pine pollen (or oak--never sure which) during Feb-March when we lived in central FL. This is our first spring in Poulsbo, but so far I haven't had even one sniffle. I keep waiting for the pine pollen season to start to see if I'm going to have the same problem with allergies here. So far, so good.
Great pics as usual, PWright. Keep 'em coming! The blooming trees and spring flowers are absolutely gorgeous in this area.

Probably oak. Not many people are actually allergic to conifer pollen, but many people blame it because its so conspicuous. The oaks bloom at about the same time: their pollen is less conspicuous, but its more apt to cause allergies. There are a few grasses as well which bloom in the spring which can also contribute to the allergy problem.
