I'm embarrassed enough as it is. You don't have to mock me.
OP, ballot initiatives are infamous for this kind of deliberately tricky wording. This is why advance preparation for voting is necessary; reading all the material available on the controversial initiatives in the weeks/days leading up to your voting day.

Was there no coverage of this measure in the local paper? Often a local newspaper will make a recommendation on how to vote, stating their position clearly, then analyzing the wording of the initiative, to clarify it for their readers, because they know that in some cases, that those proposing the initiative are trying to confuse voters into voting against their own interests.

Maybe. Maybe not. On a forum with strangers where no one knows you you must take care. There is no tone, there is no body language or facial expressions.

It's a very short step from thinking you are being self-deprecating to looking whiny because things aren't going 100% the way you demand it.

Ruth, I didn't vote in April. I missed it. That's where everyone was introduced to I-1000.
That was really sweet what you said and it made me feel better. Thanks Ruth.
I wish I could leave comments. I've tried it, but my LG won't let me.

It is?? Well that's good because my feet hurt and they're starting to swell, and I'm hungry and I need to eat and then I have to go detail a car and then........

R-88 (to reinstate affirmative action) is now slightly ahead. I have tried but can't find out how many votes are left to count.

I voted to reject as I see it as amounting to discrimination against Asians in college admission. I am not knee-jerk anti-affirmative action.

It was certainly a confusing ballot measure, but that was mostly just a consequence of the process. The group that got it on the ballot ('Asians for Equality) needed 'no' votes to get their desired result. That's the opposite of what might have been expected.

A yes on 88 meant a reversal of the older affirmative action bill I 200, and an approval of the newer bill I-1000.
A "no" vote meant a re-instatement of the 1998 I-200, and a rejection of the newer bill I-1000. How do you like me now? I think I explained it correctly.
I-88 is about I-1000, and that's about I-200. I-1000 would allow race and gender to be used w/out quotas, so only white men will get contracts, professorships, jobs, **** like that.
A no on I-88 means you don't want just white men controlling everything.

Look who is one of the authors of this bill; the ***** herself. Who remembers the day after she won her second term she conferred with Republicans and within a few hours cut all aid to disadvantaged people for dental work, eyeglasses and hearing aids.
She is the devil's servant.

I had to make it very small to upload. In case you can't read the name, it's Christine Gregoire.
